Rev. Beardsley was the first clergyman to the 1783 Loyalists. According to "History of Trinty Church, Saint John, New Brunswick,1791-1891" he was buried in Kingston. There is currently no marker in the cemetery to show where he is buried, although because of his status as a Reverend, he is most likely buried directly in front of the East end of the Church. This is where many of the early Rectors are buried.

Almost all references to the Rev. John Beardsley record his date of death at his daughter Hannah's residence in Kingston, New Brunswick as the 23/4/1809.
