This is the original burial place of William Gray. In the early 1960's his body and headstone were dug up by descendants and he was re-interred at Concord Cemetery just a few miles away. His wife and one of his children are still buried here.
Only veteran of the Revolutionary War buried in the cemetery.
There is no marker, just a rough stone slab in the middle of a patch of iris flowers. Slab could possibly have been a base for a monument. Seems to be a set of roughly carved rock steps leading up to slab. We found the name Wm Gray very crudely etched on the stone. It is within 4 feet of his wife's stone and 8 feet of his young daughter's.
