William died of pneumonia brought on by ditching in cold, wet spring weather. He is buried in the Davis Cemetery between Homer and Fairmount, Vermillion Co., Illinois. His parents were James and Lydia Rumple Allman, of Carroll Co.,Ohio. William married Emily Rachel Davis February 7, 1861 and had five children, including Agnes Lydia Allman Oyler who married Charles John Oyler.
