In Alfred Centre, N. Y., Sept. 22, 1884, Jason Powell, aged 72 years, 3 months, and 12 days. He was born in Livonia, Livingstone Co., N. Y., where he was baptized when 17 years old.
In 1834 he moved to Michigan. In 1871 he was married to Mary A. Sheldon, who survives him. His sickness was severe, but his patience was great - so great that he was never heard to complain. He was faithful in reading the Bible, strong in his convictions, and true to them, and his Christian confidence did not waver before suffering or death.
