Andrus Adams, 96 of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Andrus was born August 4, 1917 in Kaplan, Louisiana to Polite Adams and Angela Meaux Adams.
He was a resident of the Groves-Port Arthur area for 62 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired as a welder from Gulfport Shipyard after many years of service. He was also a member of Cajun Club CFMA and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Una Marie Adams of Groves, TX; three daughters, Laura J. Soto and husband Tony of Pasadena, TX, Kathleen Fawvor and husband Curtis of Port Arthur, TX, Theresia A. Soliz and husband Roy of Port Arthur, TX; three sisters, Annie Mae Stouts of Crowley, LA, Shirley Prejean of Crowley, LA, Laura Adams of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary Service at the funeral home.
