Mrs. Caroline Whitney Gee died at the home of her son, John Gee, at Tioga, May 16, after a long illness, aged 74 years.

She was a daughter of William and Adeline Whitney and was born near Keeneyville, Jul 4, 1849.

On Jul 14, 1867, she was married to William B. Gee of Farmington, and to them six children were born, four of whom survive – Mrs. M. M. Baker and William Gee of Elkland; Clarence Gee of Holiday, and John Gee of Tioga; also by 18 grandchildren and seven g-grandchildren; by one sister, Mrs. Charles Sweet of Niles Valley and one brother, Lester Whitney of Holiday.

Mrs. Gee was a member of the Methodist Church of Tioga.

Mrs. Caroline Gee, widow of William B. Gee, died at the home of her son, John Gee, on the Elkhorn
Rd, Fri after an illness of several years.

Mrs. Gee was Caroline Whitney, daughter of William and Adeline Whitney, late of Middlebury. She was born at Middlebury, Jul 4, 1849.

On Jul 14, 1867, she was married to William B. Gee of Farmington. They later moved to Tioga where six children were born to them, Mrs. Max M. Baker and William H. Gee of Elkland, Clarence and John Gee of Tioga and Mrs. Mary Bailey and Mrs. Roy Spencer, deceased. Mrs. Gee was a kind and loving mother and was highly respected by a large circle of friends. Besides her children she is survived by eighteen grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the family home on the Plank Rd. Sun afternoon, the Rev. S. Barrett of the Tioga Baptist church officiating, and interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
