Dale "Monk" Rentrop, born December 4, 1940, passed away on June 26, 2013 at age 72. Dale was the owner of Stagg Marine, Inc. of Morgan City, LA, founded in 1980. He will be remembered as an avid LSU fan, fun loving family man, devoted father and husband. "Monk" was always up to something. Everyone who knew him will miss his mischievous smile and his classic nod and wink. We all hold in our hearts at least one hilarious time shared with Dale.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Rose Rentrop of 15 years; son Dale P. Rentrop, Jr. and wife Lauren of Berwick, LA; daughter Laura Brignac and husband Malcolm of Baton Rouge, LA; son Patrick J. Rentrop and wife Janelle of Lafayette, LA; son Christian M. Rentrop and wife Victoria of Berwick ,LA; step-sons Errol Junca and wife Ann of Charenton, LA; Rene Junca and fiancée' Penny of Glencoe, LA; Hugh Junca, III of Lafayette, LA; step-daughter Monique J. Dugas of Lafayette, LA; brothers Charles and Ray Rentrop and spouses, and sisters Barbara and Peggy of Patterson, LA. Dale is survived by grandchildren Sarah, Grace, and Claire, Rentrop; Camden and Hillary Rentrop; Jayce, Tristian, and Jaden Rentrop; step-grandchildren Hannah, Luke and Kate Bailey; Kelly Chanthavongsy and husband Erik; Cody Junca, Maegan Junca, Aylece Dugas, Nicholas, Allison, Derek, and Emily Junca; step great grandchildren Brailyn and Maxon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Annette L. and Eugene Rentrop; late wife Charlene F. Rentrop; his brother Teddy Rentrop, and sister Joy R. White.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday, June 28, 2013, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Berwick, LA at 2:00 pm. Dale will be laid to rest in the Berwick Mausoleum.
