Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 21, 2013 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Birdie Duhon Alleman, 92, who passed away on June 18, 2013 at 12:15 am at Pelican Point.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Birdie, a resident of Lafayette, was the only child of the late Andrew Duhon and the former Leona Clark.
She was known as "Mommee" to all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley A. Leblanc and her husband Harold of Lafayette, LA and Kate A. Brodhead and husband Doug of Cypress, TX; two sons, Carroll Alleman and wife Michelle of Carencro, LA and Ferrlyn Alleman of the Phillipines; ten grandchildren, Shannon L. Bergeron, Bryce and Britt Brodhead, Chelette A. Pharr, Danielle A. Mendoza, Trish A. Paroncel, Chad Alleman, Chelsi and Shelbi Alleman and Delana Mattewson; fourteen great grandchildren, Shenee' B. Broussard, Brikki B. Martin, Sophie Kate, Hutch, and Audrey Grace Pharr, Lane and Claire Brodhead, Chelsi and Derrick Matthewson, Dylan, Paris, Presley and River Mendoza, and Bradley Wingfield; and four great great grandchildren, Carlyn Shae' and Cambri Savanah Broussard, and Cohen James and Sawyer Brookes Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edieu Alleman, one son Allen "Black" Alleman and one grandson Twain Alleman.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:45 pm on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Friday from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Carroll and Ferrlyn Alleman, Harold Leblanc, and Doug, Bryce and Britt Brodhead. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Bergeron, Michael Pharr, Donald Mendoza, and Kenneth Alleman.
