Harold F. Winter, 68, of 128 Scotch Plains Ave., died Monday at Overlook Hospital, Summit.

Mr. Winter was a lifelong resident of Weslfield. He was a graduate of New York University with a degree in engineering. He retired in 1973 after 42 years of employment as designer and developer of telephone equipment with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co.

He was a licensed amateur radio station operator with call letters W2FNK and was a charter member of the Tri-County Radio Association, and a member of the F.B. Jewett Chapter, Telephone Pioneers of America, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Honorary Engineering Societies, Tau Beta Pi, and Eta Kappa Nu.

Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Helen Aagre of Westfield and Mrs. Ruth Livingston, New Monmouth.

Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard L. Smith of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
