PROMINENT MARKLE WOMAN IS CALLED AFTER LONG LIFE::

Mrs. Elizabeth (Heckman) Maddux, a resident of Markle and that vacinity for more than half a century, died Tuesday morning at 7 o'clock at her home in Markle. She was almost seventy-nine years of age and had suffered a decline in the past two years which ended in her death Tuesday.
Elizabeth (Heckman) Maddux was born in Stark Co., OH., Feb 18, 1832, and lived there with her parents until eighteen years of age. Her marriage to Nathan Maddux occured November 4, 1852, and immediately after the young couple removed to a farm in Wells Co., Of four children born, but one survives, Mrs. W.A. Hahflich, but lives on the old farm in Wells Co. The aged husband survives. In 1899, the couple moved from their farm to Markle where they have since occupied a comfortable home. Mrs. Maddux was a life long member of the M.E. Church and was always active in its affairs. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the Markle Methodist church. Rev. Charles H. Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Horeb cemetery four miles east of Markle.
