Married Mary Jane Campbell on October 24, 1855 in Adams, Massachusetts. Since Peter Horn arrived in Newburgh in 1851 and Mary Jane was living in Newburgh between 1847 and 1855, it's possible that they might have met there, rather than in Adams.
Peter worked as a spinner in several cotton mills scattered across Massachusetts, but mostly in Adams. He also worked in Hoosick Falls, New York, where his older children were born.
He died tragically in the Great Blizzard of 1888, the "White Tornado". He left his older children in the cotton mill where they all worked and died trying to get home to his wife and younger children. His frozen body was found not far from his home on West Road in Adams.
Peter and Mary Jane had ten children. After Peter's death, Mary Jane adopted their half-orphaned granddaughter.
