HAZEL R. EVANS, 82, of Bruceton Mills (Glade Farms Community), WV, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Mapleshir Nursing and Rehab Center, in Morgantown, WV.
The daughter of the late Bruce and Nettie Pearl Herring Fike, she was born October 23, 1926, in Hazelton, WV.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Stanley Regius Evans; two daughters and their husbands, Darlene and David Bryte, and Wendy and Jim Everly, of Bruceton Mills; a son and his wife, Terry and Virginia Evans, of Bruceton Mills; six grandchildren: Brian Bryte and his wife, Joni, Nelson Bryte and his wife, Wendy, Mandy and Nathan Evans, and Chastity and Katie Jo Everly; three great-grandchildren: Trenton, Dalton, and Nora Bryte; a sister, Jessie Friend, of Bruceton Mills; and a brother, Blaine Fike, of Bruceton Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Evans in 1974; five brothers: Scott, Elzy, Frank, Carl, and Bruce Fike; and four sisters: Grace Friend, Dora Feathers, Mildred Feathers, and Delores Friend.
Friends will be received at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Tuesday, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., and Wednesday, April 15, 2009, from 10 until the 11:00 a.m. service, with Pastors Steve Wotring and Tim Wotring officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
