Columbia SS. Be it remembered that on the ? th day of July in the year of our Lord 1794 William Alstyne of the city of Hudson farmer, appeared before me, Philip L. Hoffman, Surrogate of the County of Columbia and being duly sworn says that he saw Hendrick Van Rensselaer sign and seal the preceding written instrument purporting to be his last will and testament, bearing the date 15 day of December 1783 and heard him publish and declare the same as for his last will and testament; that at the time of the executing thereof he the said Hendrick Van Rensselaer was of sound and disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of the deponant and that he the deponant together with John Arandeville and Adam De Deusen severally subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in the presence of the testator. Columbia SS: Be it remembered that on said ? th day of July in the year of our Lord 1794 Peter Van Rensselaer one of the Executors named in the within will appeared before me, Philip L. Hoffman, Surrogate of the County of Columbia and was duly sworn to the true execution of the said will by taking the oath of an executor as by Law. Appointed by me, Ph: L. Hoffman.
