Josephine Marshall and Russell Ervin Sword, both residents of Eldora in Hardin County, Iowa, were married Monday evening January 16, 1939, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Palmer, southwest of Eldora, with the Rev. Dewey Lamprecht officiating.
Russell and Josephine rented a farm southwest of Eldora after March 1, 1939, before moving to a farm in the Liscomb area in 1945. From 1977 on, they lived in Union, Iowa.
After Russel E. Sword passed away on September 22, 1982, Josephine married Levi H. Cook in 1984.
Josephine Sword Cook passed away October 31, 2005, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Ervin (Jeanette) Sword of Union, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Ervin Sword; her son, Melvin Sword;and her second husband, Levi H. Cook.
Arrangements were by and Visitation was on Thursday, November 3, 2005, at the Johnson Funeral Home, from 2-8 p.m., with her family present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2005, at the Liscomb Church of Christ, with Rev.
