Visitation will be Thursday February 28, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Lucedale Church of God in Christ. Funeral will follow at 12:00 Noon.

Funeral services were held for William "Bill" Dortch, 55, of Lucedale on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 12 noon at Lucedale Church of God in Christ.

Interment followed in New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Burney and Rev. Rondel Sinclair officiating the services.

A former painter at Ingalls Shipyard, a worker at a sawmill and Church's Chicken and a member of New Antioch Baptist Church, he died February 22.

He is survived by his sisters, Mary Farley (Michael) Kimbrough of Bexley and Lillie (Larry) Fairley of Lucedale; brothers Johnny Smith, Robert (Tiffany) Dortch, both of Lucedale and Jerry (Zulinde) Dortch of New Orleans, LA; grandmother Hattie Mae Dortch of Leaf; aunts Ella Mae Smith of Merrill, Francis Campbell of Lucedale, Minnie Moore of Dalesville, Ala. and Lizzie Dortch of Basin; seven nieces, five nephews; a host of great nieces, great nephews and cousins; devoted friend Ray Phil "Bo" Jackson and friends.

He was preceded in death by his nephew Frederick Dortch; great nephew Kannon Fairley; parents Melvina Dortch and Sylvester Dortch, Sr.; brothers Clayton Smith, Eddie Dortch and Sylvester Dortch, Jr.; grandparents Lillie and William Smith and Joe Dortch; uncles Eddie Will Smith, Charlie Smith, Henry Smith, Andrew Smith, Tommy Dortch, Walter Dortch, Earnest Dortch, S. T. Dortch and Preston Dortch; and aunt Lula Mae Dortch.

Pallbearers included Wendell Fairley, John Blackston, Rocky Jack, James Smith, Sylvester McKenzie and Jeffrey Dennis. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Dortch, Robert Dortch, Michael Kimbrough, Markus Fairley, Johnny Smith, Larry Fairley and Ray "Bo" Jackson.
