Emanuel Mockerman
Emanuel Mockerman served in Co. D, 111th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He enlisted at the age of twenty-one on August 8, 1862, and was mustered out on June 27, 1865, at Salisbury, North Carolina.
The 111th Ohio Infantry was organized at Toledo, Ohio, to serve for three years. It was recruited from northwestern Ohio from Sandusky, Lucas, Wood, Fulton, Williams and Defiance counties. The regiment was mustered in on September 5, 1862, and mustered out on June 27, 1865, at Salisbury, North Carolina.
Emanuel Mockerman was born in 1841 in Ohio. He married Louise Brady on June 27, 1877, at Windsor in Eaton County, Michigan. Louise was born about 1861. Her obituary states she was born in England.
In 1870, Emanuel lived with Jacob and Nancy Mockerman in West Windsor, Eaton County, Michigan. He applied for a pension for his service in the war in October 1881 and again in 1887. In 1890, Emanuel lived in Delta, Eaton County, Michigan.
In 1910, Emanuel and Louise lived in Garfield Township, Kalkaska County, Michigan, with children Milo, Oda (or Ora), Frank, Rena, Dora, Mabel, Pearl, Ruth, and Elmer.
Milo Mockerman was born in 1880 in Ingham, Michigan. He married Pearl M. Eveland on October 4, 1924, at Traverse City, Michigan. Pearl was born on June 29, 1909, in Kent County, Michigan, the daughter of Wells and Nellie B. (Hills) Eveland. Milo Mockerman died on March 20, 1944, at Grayling, Michigan, following an illness of several months. He had been a mail carrier in Kalkaska County for twenty-five years. His widow, Pearl, married (2) her brother-in-law, Elmer Mockerman.
Oda (or Ora) Mockerman was born about 1882 in Michigan.
Frank Mockerman was born on April 11, 1884, at Millett, Ingham County, Michigan, and died on June 9, 1967, in Kalkaska. He is buried in the Garfield Township Cemetery in Kalkaska County.
Irene Mockerman was born on June 1, 1888, in Kearney Township, Antrim County, Michigan. She married Jack Morgan who was born about 1882 in Michigan. They lived in Maple Valley, Montcalm County, Michigan, and in 1973 they lived in Coral, Michigan. Children known born to them were Katherine, Harry, Velma, and Bernard Morgan.

Oscar was born about 1882 in Allen County, Indiana, to Gregg and Lenora (Adams) Moore. By 1920 Dora was widowed and living in Garfield Township, Kalkaska County, with children Clifford, Leonard, and Hazel Moore. An unnamed baby boy died on May 20, 1919, the same day he was born. He is buried in the Garfield Township Cemetery in Kalkaska County.
Mabel Mockerman was born on May 20, 1892, in Eaton County, Michigan. She married Fred Calkins on March 2, 1944, in Kalkaska. Fred was born on June 14, 1889, in Garfield Township, Kalkaska County, the son of David and Verna Calkins. Fred died on January 27, 1966, at the veterans' hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Mabel died on April 30, 1984, at Provincial House in Traverse City, Michigan.
Pearl Mockerman was born on October 18, 1894, in Kalkaska County. She married Floyd Dennis on May 12, 1928, in Kalkaska. Floyd was born on August 30, 1891, in Wood County, Ohio. Floyd, a carpenter, served in World War I. Pearl and Floyd had five children: Grover, Gordon, Clell, Gladys, and Tressa Dennis. Floyd Dennis died on October 2, 1970, at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital and Pearl Dennis died on November 14, 1979, also at the hospital in Kalkaska.
Ruth Mockerman was born about 1898 in Antrim County, Michigan. She married Lawrence E. Cain on July 17, 1920, at Kalkaska. Lawrence was born about 1889 in Clarington, Ohio, to Jacob Cain. Ruth and Lawrence lived in Boardman Township, Kalkaska County. Children born to them before 1930 were Elmer and Mona Cain.
Elmer Mockerman was born on March 15, 1900, at Bellaire, Michigan. He married his widowed sister-in-law, Pearl (Eveland) Mockerman, on September 1, 1945, in Lake City, Michigan. They had two sons, Marvin and Milton. Elmer died on December 29, 1972, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, Michigan, following a short illness. Pearl died on January 24, 1997, in Kalkaska. They are buried in the Garfield Township Cemetery in Kalkaska County.

Carpenter and son, Perry, of Bellaire.
Emanuel and Louise Mockerman are buried in the Garfield Township Cemetery in Kalkaska County, Michigan. Mr. Mockerman's grave is marked by a Civil War military headstone and a G.A.R flag holder.
