Susan Sawrie Doubleday, 66, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at her home.

Susan was a very accomplished artist. She recently had works exhibited in local and regional art galleries. She was a member of the Tennessee Water Color Society and the Southeastern Pastel Society. She participated in Cashiers Plein Air in Cashiers, NC for the last two years.

She served as a leader for many years in the "It's A Wonderful Life" Senior Adult Fellowship at First Presbyterian Church where she was a long time member. She was also a member of Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, sustaining member of the Junior League, as well as, the Lookout Mountain Beautiful Garden club for many years.

Loved by her family, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Virginia Sawrie; and brother, Jim Sawrie.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Doubleday, of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Kelly (Todd) Floied, of Cleveland, TN; brother, Dr. Stephen M. Sawrie, of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Emily, Chase, Nicholas and Lilly Floied; brothers-in-law, Duke Doubleday, of Columbus, GA and Jim Doubleday of Savannah, GA; one niece, Sharon Sawrie, of Chattanooga, TN; and nephews, Dr. Stephen Sawrie, of Spanish Fort, AL, Dr. David Sawrie, of Houston, TX, and Dr. Daniel Sawrie, of Signal Mountain, TN, Jimmy Sawrie, of Tequesta, FL, Vann Doubleday, of Pooler, GA, and Taylor and Blake Doubleday, of Savannah, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday April 16, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating.

A private interment will follow the service in Forest Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Avenue Chattanooga, TN 37402.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, Hospice of Chattanooga, P.O. Box 46 Chattanooga, TN 37401 or The Gideons International , P.O. Box 1581 Hixson, TN 37343.
