Funeral services fro Lois Turner will be held on Saturday April 9, 2005 in the Bedford LDS Chapel at noon.
A viewing will be held on Friday April 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Schwab Mortuary in Afton and again from 10:30-11:45 a.m. the day of the funeral at the church.
After residing in Star Valley Care Center for the past six years, Lois Turner passed away Turesay April 5, 2005. Her loving husband was at her side.
Lois was the oldest of seven children born to LeRoy and Zelta Skinner. She was born August 28, 192p. Her twin sister, Lola, died shortly after her birth.
Lois married Eugene Turner on May 21 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union six children were born.
Lois was an excellent cook. She and her mother were hired by a restaurant in Jackson to make pies. After a summer of making the long drive back and forth, the two women decided to quit.
Lois was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the church all her life.
Lois was very supportive of her children and grandchildren attending as many ball games and concerts as she could. When Kelly and Layne wrestled, she was well know for her cheering. Many people came to the wrestling matches,not to watch the wrestlers, but to watch her. She is even featured in the 1971 yearbook for her enthusiasm for cheering.
In her 30's Lois was diagnosed with Lupus and later Parkinson's Disease. After falling and breaking her leg in Feb 1999 she moved into the care center. There she made many friends and enjoyed visits from friends and family.
Lois is survived by her husband; children Kelly (Chris) Turner; Layne (Rosie) Turner; Steven (Julie) Turner; Tami (Todd) Erickson; Polli (Randy) Edwards; 18 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sisters, Verena Moore of Idaho Falls; and Mona Tayler of casper and her brother, Don of Salt Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lola and Lana; one brother, Alma; daughter Patty Jean; and one granddaughter and on grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, 2005 in the Bedford LDS Church. Burial took place in the Bedford Cemetery
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
