"The funeral of John Ditzler, an aged citizen of this place {Greensburg}, was held in the Evangelical church yesterday. Rev. Deane preached the funeral sermon."

"The will of John Ditzler and application for probate have been filed. The property is left to his wife while she shall live. After her death it shall be divided equally among their children excepting Alice Heckman who is given $5. Her share is to be divided among her children."
Summit County Beacon, Akron, OH, Thursday, April 26, 1894, p. 2

"Alice Hickman vs. Mary Ann Ditzler, Amanda Moore, Harvey Ditzler, Clara Ditzler, and Mary Ann Ditzler as administratrix with will annexed of John Ditzler, deceased, is the title of an action filed in Common Pleas Court this morning. The petition states that on April 27, 1894, a certain paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of the said John Ditzler was admitted to probate. It is claimed that it is not the last will of the deceased because on April 12, when the will is alleged to have been drawn up and signed he was of unsound mind and that he did not sign the will. It is therefore prayed that the alleged will be set aside."
