Services for Sam Jackson, 85, Tyler, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Mitchel Chapel Church of God in Christ with the Rev. H.P. Jordan officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.
Mr. Jackson died Feb. 9 in a Tyler hospital.
He was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Cherokee County and lived most of his life in Smith County. He attended Stanton High School, was a laborer for Tyler Pipe Industries and a member of Larissa Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, Larry Jackson, Houston; daughters, Gloria Nolen, Carolyn Cole, Shirley Jones, Alma Stevenson, Linda Bowie and Pat McKellar, all of Tyler, and Sue Adighibe, Dallas; brother, Willie Jackson, Tyler; sisters, Lorine Timms and Evada Jackson, both of Tyler; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are James Madison, Trayvian Tate, Jerome Lacy, Keevan Jackson, Anthony Mumphrey, B.J. Johnson and Rodney Bendy.
Honorary pallbearers are his son, sons-in-law and nephews.
Family will receive friends 8:30-9:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
