He was born Dec. 16, 1929, at Belington, a son of the late Thurmond and Velma Ryan Cross.
On March 16, 1949, he was united in marriage in Randolph County to the former Hope Yvonne Bedford who survives at their home in Belington.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Cross and wife Kathy, of Pennsylvania, and Daniel Cross and wife Freda, of Belington; six daughters, Linda Everson and husband, Roger, Barbara Summerfield and husband, Roger, Marlene Thomas, Beuna Pomp and husband, Mike, all of Belington, Susan McMann and husband, Bill, of Marlinton, and a special daughter Connie Brown and husband, Greg, of Belington. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Everson and Lillie Ginger; one half-sister, Ruth Everson; and four half-brothers, Bobbie Scott, Jim Scott, Earnest Scott and Mason Scott.
Mr. Cross attended the schools of Barbour County. He was last employed by Talbott Lumber Co. as a truck driver from which he retired.
He was a protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 210 Brandenburg Street in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and again on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to noon, the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Richard Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Chapel Cemetery near Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Henson Cross.
