Chief of the Choctaw Indian Nation while in Mississippi. Fought with Andrew Jackson along with other Choctaws during the Creek/Seminole Wars then the war of 1812, where he was commissioned a Col. David came to Indian Territory during the Removal of the Choctaws from Mississippi. David was a highly respected leader of the Choctaws. A partial inscription on his marker reads "He being dead yet speaketh". David's first wife Rhoda Nail Folsom died Nov 1839 and is buried in the Folsom Cemetery (1 grave) northeast of Idabel on the Turner Ranch. Her grave is on private property. Father of Lily Folsom Harkins, wife of Chief George W. Harkins.
