Mrs. Louise Wehking, nee Leseman, wife of Louis Wehking of North Prarie, died Sunday at 11 p.m. at the age of 60 years, eight months and six days.
Deceased was born at Bergkirchen, Germany, at at the age of two years emigrated to this country with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leseman, who were among the first settlers of North Prarie. June 2, 1860, she was united in marriage to Louis Wehking. This union was blessed with twelve children of whom seven survive; Mrs. M. Heuer, New Minden, Mrs. Hy. Krughoff of Nashville, Mrs. Lizzie Wald of Granite City, the Misses Rosa, Ella and Clara, and Louis Wehking, Jr., also nine grand-children and two brothers Fred Leseman, of this city, and William Leseman of Kimundy.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, in the Methodist church in North Prarie and the interment was made in the church cemetery, Rev. Miller officiating.
