Mr. Wehking was born in Unterluebbe, Germany March 17, 1833 and emigrated to America in 1857. In 1860 he was united in marriage with Louise Leseman, which union was blessed with twelve children, five of whom preceded him in death. Mrs. Wehking died in September 1902. His loss is mourned by seven children, Mrs. Minna Heuer of Hoyleton, Mrs. Hy. Krughoff and Mrs. Lizzie Wald of Nashville, Louis Wehking and the Misses Rosa, Ella and Clara Wehking, besides ten grand-children and two brothers.
Mr. Wehking was a kind, indulgent father, a devout Christian, and a devoted member of the German M.E. church.
The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon in the M.E. church at North Prarie and the interment will be made in the church cemetery.
