*An Outlaw of the Indian Territory who belonged to the Miller Gang and killed by Ross Benge on Christmas Eve 1894.

James Miller (full-blood Cherokee) was the son of Calvin Miller and Susan Raincrow; he had the following siblings: Moses and John; and a half brother: William Miller (mother: Ollie Duck).

James married before 1895, Nelly Collier b. 1877, daughter of Abraham Collier and Caroline Elk; they had one known daughter: Susie Miller b. 1895 (3/4 Cherokee).

He is listed on the 1880 CN Census: Illinois, 1197; 1890 CN Census: Illinois, 1030.
