Norman Brafford, 77, of Bruceton Mills, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, in his home.
The son of the late John and Anna Belle Harris Brafford, he was born June 19, 1925, in Booth.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, member of VFW Post 2523 and DAV.

Norman is survived by his wife, Dora Spiker Brafford, of Bruceton Mills; two sons, Marvin James Brafford, of Bruceton Mills, and Michael John Brafford, of Bruceton Mills; four grandchildren, Melynie Ryan, Christi Wilson, Justin Brafford and Amanda Brafford; and four great-grandchildren, Katie Ryan, Derrick Ryan, Brandi Wilson and Ryan Beatty.

He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Brafford; 14 brothers and sisters, Ethel, Sam, twins Paul and Pauline, Robert "Bob, " Justina, twins Lola and Virginia, Lee, Nellie, John "Bill," Clyde, Donald and Norma.

Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville, Monday, 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ricardo Alicastro officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.

Military graveside services will be conducted by Preston County VFW members.
