He was a lifelong resident of Glassboro and along with his late father Charles Ale Sr. was the originator of Ale's ESSO Servicenter in Glassboro in 1947 which is still in the family and known as Ale's Auto Servicenter. He also owned and operated several other small businesses in Glassboro pertaining to automobiles.
Mr. Ale served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Shaw-Paulin American Legion Post in Glassboro. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Glassboro and a former member of both the Glassboro Lions Club and the Glassboro Rotary Club.
Mr. Ale is survived by his wife Katherine E. Ale; one daughter Kimberly Ale of Glassboro; four sons Charles Ale III (Jill) of Glassboro Rev. Mark Ale (Catherine) of Bound Brook NJ Jay Ale (Eileen) of Turnersville and Dana Ale (Joelyn) of Sewell and eight grandchildren Allison Anne Spera Carlie Anne Ale Joanna Lea Ale Jonathan David Ale Heather Elizabeth Ale Spencer Dana Ale Christopher Thomas Ale and Lindsey Faith Ale.
Funeral services will be Wednesday May 28 at 11AM in the First United Methodist Church New and Academy Streets Glassboro where friends may call after 10AM. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9PM in The MATHIS FUNERAL HOME 43 N. Delsea Drive Glassboro. Burial will be in Manahath Cemetery in Glassboro.
