Motion Picture Director. He was the brother of Marie Antonine Epstein. They moved to Paris, France in 1921 after studying in Switzerland and Lyon, France. He was a film theoretician, publishing several books including "Bonjour cinéma" in 1921 and he became a film director of the French avant-garde. His film credits include "La Chute de la maison Usher" and a documentary entitled "Pasteur" in 1922. For Pathé, he made 3 fiction films including "L'Auberge rouge," "Coeur fidèle" in 1923 and "La Belle Nivernaise" 1924. After time at the Russian émigré studio Albatros, where he made popular films, he ran his own production company (1926-30) including a film entitled "La Glace à trois faces" 1927, "Finis terrae" in 1929. He died of natural causes in Paris, France.
