Leah or Lea Vandermark was born in 1779 in Walpeck, Sussex, NJ to Jacobus or James Vandermark and Catherine (Catrina) Schoonhoven. She was baptized there on October 6, 1779. She married Isaiah Mixter in about 1800 in Walpeck, Sussex, NJ. Their first 3 children were born in Walpeck. In 1810, the Isaiah Mixter family lived in Moon Township, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. By 1819 Isaiah was on the tax records for Hanover Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania. They lived there until the early 1820's and by 1830 were living in Findlay Township, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. On March 28, 1839, Isaiah and his son John Mixter of Allegheny county, purchased 90 acres of land from Samuel and Mary Thornburgh in Beaver county along the waters of Raccoon Creek. Isaiah died at the age of 72 in 1847 (prior to June 7, 1847) in Hopewell Township, Pennsylvania. Leah died in 1851 or after in Hopewell, Beaver, PA. She is on the 1851 tax list for Hopewell Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
Isaiah and Leah (Vandermark) Mixter had six known children (maybe 7).
