Beloved son of ISAAC SISSON of New York and HANNAH (POTTER)of Vermont.

Dearest husband of Clarinda (Clounds)nee PERRY. large Farmer, owned land in Imlay City Lapeer County MI.


Gilbert farmed near the boundary lines of Goodland and Imlay Townships after arriving in the area in 1864 from Oakland County. He built the first log house on that property. The road that he lived on later became Sisson Rd. He was the father of eight children. (Lapeer Paper)



** TUBERCULOSIS OUTBREAK THAT SPREAD THRU MICHIGAN****.

Gilbert Sisson of Imlay City Lapeer county died after FIGHTING FOR 5 FIVE YEARS of this deadly highly contagious disease.
Seeing his ENTIRE family also contracting /admitted/Quarntined/ to the Aslymn in PONITAC MICHIGAN.There were no hospitals that could take the heavy load of all the patients at this time of the outbreak.
His wife and children were released,back to the farm in Imlay City in 1910, Sadly Gilbert had to stay alone.
