Services held for Old time Mojave Resident Kozich

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 1, for Spasoje "Steve" Kozich, who died at the family home, 15957 K St., on Thursday, June 29.
Services were held at the Mojave Desert Chapel by the Rev. James Thompson of the Community Congregational Church and Pope Marco Malozorvich of Saint Sava Church in Los Angeles. Interment was at the Mojave District Cemetery.
Mr. Kozich was 71. He was born May 15, 1890, in Serbia, now a part of Yugoslavia.
At the age of 20 he began working for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and remained with the department for 45 years until his retirement in 1955. He was variously employed as a laborer, mechanic, warehouseman, miner, and garage utility man.
He married Yvanka Rasovich ,in 1923 in Bakersfield.
He is survived by his widow at the family address, and by three children, Steve Kozich Jr. of La Puente, Ann Ivanovich of China Lake, and Dianne Fournier of Huntington Beach.
There are seven grandchildren.
Mr. Kozich was a member of the Independent Odd Fellows Lodge of Mojave for 25 years and of the Serbian United Benevolent. Society, for 50 years.
