To my cousin Ricky,
I was only privileged to know you as a child and playmate; and once your parents moved away I never got to see you again. For me, this was a loss I was not to realize until you left this earth.
You grew from a witty boy into a wonderful man who was a pillar within his community; someone who was respected and who's advice, company, and friendship was constantly sought after. You gave of yourself to others with no thought of yourself or your own well-being so that others might find joy. You were the truest son, brother, and friend.
Your absence leaves the largest of holes in the lives of your family and friends, but even in your passing you bring goodness to those you left behind. I have now reconnected with your mother and brother (and their sweet spouses) and I will never let go of your family, who is also mine, again.
