Funeral services for Mrs. Fayrene Gragg were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 1987, at Calvary Christian Fellowship, with the Rev. Joe Jernigan, pastor, and the Rev. Frank Scofield officiating.

Mrs. Gragg died at her home, 301 North Wall Street, at 2:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, following a lengthy illness.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Bob Jernigan, Dennis LeBlanc, Ran Henry, Buster Keys, Guy Hardin and Ed Haynes. Burial was in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Richerson Funeral Home.

Born in Haskell, March 11, 1931, to the late John J. and Bernice Pennington, Fayrene attended schools at Lela and Shamrock and was graduated from Samnorwood High School. She was a member of the Christian Church. Fayrene Pennington and Joe Gragg were married June 4, 1950 at Clovis, New Mexico.

Survivors include her husband of the home, a daughter, Mrs. Debbie Williams of Guthrie, a son, Kenneth Gragg of Mesquite; four sisters: Mrs. Billie Castleberry of Shamrock, Mrs. Vivian Corona of Houston, Mrs. Shelly Everett of Woodlands and Mrs. Penny Hayden of Pineville, La., three brothers: Jimmy Pennington of Booker, Jerry Pennington of Waller, and John Pennington, Jr. of Ripley, Miss., and six grandchildren.
