Henry Thaut, 83, a resident of this area since 1913, died Saturday.
Mr. Thaut, of 15902 E. 79th Ave., Puyallup, was born in Russia.
He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Molly; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Tidwell of Tacoma; two sons, Russell H. of Seattle and Ronald J. of Tacoma; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Fir Lane Funeral Home is in charge.

Henry and "Mollie" owned and ran a 80 acre dairy farm for many years in rural Pierce County WA. Henry and "Mollie" were self sufficient raising their 3 children in the good old fashioned way. Henry built the family a lovely little home which still stands today about 80 years later.
Both of them witnessed much in their lifetime. Henry's family lost 4 children to disease and Mollies lost 3.
