Gary Gillette Sr., 60, of Monroe Township, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Carbondale, Pa., he was raised in Waymart, Pa. and lived in South Amboy before moving to Monroe Township in 1991. He was owner - operator of G&L Trucking Co., Monroe for the past 18 years. He was previously employed by Gillette Trucking Co., South Amboy.

Son of the late Joseph and Marion Gillette, he was also predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Frederick, Richard, John and Edward Gillette, Rose Marie Walitis and Carol Sekelsky. He is survived by his wife, Laura Scully Gillette; three sons, Gary Jr., Jason, and Cory Gillette, all of Monroe Township; five brothers, Joseph Gilletti of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Robert Gillette of Waymart, Pa., Thomas Gillette of Carbondale, Pa., William Gillette of Elizabeth City, N.C., and James Gillette of Sayreville; and two sisters, Linda Matoushek and Renee Wetherington, both of Waymart, Pa.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 5 from the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, South Amboy. Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum, Parlin.
