Civil War Service - He enlisted Feb 4 1865. He mustered in as a Private on Feb 20 1865 at Camp Chase, Ohio with Co H, 184th OVI. He mustered out with the unit Sep 20 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee

He married Flora Carter (1857-??) on Oct 27 1877 in Summit County, Ohio. They had a daughter Claire Brockett (1878–??). The family was living in Randolph, Portage, Ohio in 1880.
