Elizabeth Vohnoutka passed away at the home of her son, John Vohnoutka on May 25, 1917, at the age of 85.
She was born in Bohemia on February 25, 1832, where she spent the greater part of her life. In 1860, she was united in marriage to Frank Vohnoutka, who passed away in Bohemia in 1900.
After her husband’s death, Elizabeth came to America and settled in Renville County, Minnesota, where she lived until 1907. She then moved to the home of her daughter and son-in-law Frances and Mathias Sembauer until shortly before her death.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters. They are John Vohnoutka, Mrs. Mary Hanek, Mrs. Mathias Sembauer of New Prague, MN; and Joseph and Frank Wohnoutka of Renville County, MN
Her funeral was held at St. Wenceslaus Church in New Prague on May 28, 1917, where she was laid to rest in the church cemetery.
