Doris Arnold Crow, 86, of Diboll, died Tuesday, August 15, 2008 at the home of her daughter Alice.

A memorial service was held September 30, 2006 at Valley View Baptist Church in Longview with Pastor David Dinkins officiating.

Born in Browndell on September 27, 1919, she was the daughter of James Maxey and Hazel Jones Arnold. She was a graduate of Pineland High School and moved to Diboll with her family where she worked in the box factory and at the post office.

She was a Women's Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving from May 26, 1944 - December 3, 1945 and attained the rank of Corporal. She received several campaign medals.

Following service, she went to Lufkin College and received an Associates Degree in Business and moved to Houston.

She and J. Clyde Crow married December 28, 1956 in Houston. He died July 21, 1963. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in La Marque.

She leaves a son, Robert Arnold of Hallsville; dauaghter, Alice Cherry of Great Barrington, Maryland; sister, Annette Wright of Lufin; niece, Elizabeth McCreary; nephew, Merton Bishop

She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Ginger; son-in-law, Robert and numerous nieces and nephews.

Birches-Roy Funeral Home in Barrington was in charge of local arrangements.
