Hazel Annette (Arnold) Yarsley Wright, 74, of Lufkin, was born September 26, 1934, in Pineland, Texas, and raised in Diboll. She was the daughter of the late Hazel (Jones) and Maxie Arnold. She passed away Monday, October 20, 2008, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Wright was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved music, and had a variety of interests. She retired from Mass Mutual in 1982, following more than 18 years of service as a claims adjuster. She was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Wright of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Fran Yarsley of Palm Coast, Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Gerry Talbot of Marshall and Dorothy and Reggie Wellman of Springfield, Massachusetts; stepdaughter, Laurie Ann Mellen of Houston; stepson and his wife, Rick and Debbie Wright of Houston; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her first husband, James Yarsley, in August, 1992; her parents; and 6 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Talbot, Joshua Talbot, Jared Mellen, Brent Mellen, Gerry Talbot and Jake Wright. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Wright's memory may be made to the Keltys First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2402 N. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904. Services for Mrs. Wright will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jerry Browning officiating.
