Elora Maxfield Ekker 1918 ~ 2004 HANKSVILLE- Elora Maxfield Ekker, 86, of Hanksville, Utah, passed away December 4, 2004, in Richfield. She was born January 14, 1918, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Melvin Theodore Neyers and Lula Mary Herrick. Then at very young age she was adopted? by Everett Elijah and Elizabeth Webster Maxfield, with whom she lived until she married Riter Ekker on June 19, 1933, in Price, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1997. Elora was a member of the LDS church where she served in many capacities. She was active in the community and served on the Wayne County Beautification Committee.

She loved to quilt and spend time in her yard. She was a great cook and was known for her homemade pies.

She loved her family and enjoyed being with them. She is survived by her children, Gary R. (Maedell) Ekker, Green River; Everett (Karla) Ekker, Price; Don (Judy) Ekker, South Jordan; Phyllis (Morris) Blackburn, Emery; Jay (Joanne) Ekker, Green River; and Kerry (Tina) Ekker, Richfield; 28 grandchildren; 65 great-grand children; 14 great-great-grand children; and brother, Raymond Maxfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Riter; son, James; daughter, Sadie; grandson, Evan; great-grandson, Grant; parents; and sister-in-law, Leda Maxfield.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Hanksville from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Hanksville Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Neal S.
