Mr. Smith, spent his childhood in New York, later moving to Pennsylvania. Where he married Miss Juliet Yost, October 7, 1864. Then moved to Michigan and from there to Illinois, where they resided before moving to Kansas in 1887. They had nine children. In Kinsley he was a prosperous farmer, where he delt both in grain and cattle. One son Will preceeded him in death. He died suddenly of heart problems, that were found after his death by a post-mortem. His wife found him in their yard. He was 63 with no prior health problems. He is survived by his wife and eight children. One brother Levi Smith
