ALICE M. DALE

Alice M. Dale, 85, was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002 at her home in Carthage.
Mrs. Dale was born Jan. 29, 1917 in Columbia, MO., to T. M. Maughs and Addison Tinsley Maughs.
She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia was a bachelor's degree in dietetics and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
She married Robert S. Dale on Dec. 26, 1940 in Columbia, MO. They moved to Carthage in the fall of 1945 at the end of World War II.
She was a charter member of Chapter HH of PEO Sisterhood, co-chairman of the Red Cross Blood Program with Ruth Hess and Eleanor Flanigan, Red Cross volunteer for McCune-Brooks Hospital and a member of the Thursday Club, Broadview Country Club, Carthage.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Atwood, Julie Dale, and Susan Neely and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert S. "Spanky" Dale, Jr. on July 25, 1963; her husband Robert S Dale on Feb. 22, 1997; and two brothers.
The body will be cremated. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 11 at the Grace Episcopal Church. Father Steve Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium.
Arrangements are under the direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
