The Col. Benjamin Taliaferro family graveyard is located near the site of his plantation house in the Broad River Settlement. The approximate location was described in 1854:
Col. Taliaferro's residence was on the south side, and about half a mile from Broad River, and ten
miles from its junction with the Savannah.
Roughly plotting this location on google maps places the approximate location about 2 miles north of Friendship Cemetery on Broad Road, and about 1.8 miles North 2o degrees East from the approximate location of the Fortson-Landrum Cemetery (old Pope's Chapel.)
At least one identifiable graves survived as late as 1986:
It is through the autobiographical sketch of Mrs. Jewell that the only identifiable grave in the
Taliaferro cemetery near the home of Benjamin Taliaferro, Sr., in Wilkes County, Georgia was
rendered significant. The inscription "A. A. Taliaferro," marks the resting place of the grand-
daughter of Benjamin and Martha M. Taliaferro–Ann Amelia, who died from the effects of a burn when she was three years old.
Ann Amelia, the second daughter of my parents was born August 13, 1845. She died from the effects
of a burn when she was three years old.
