From US-78 take exit 21 toward Red Banks. Head south on S. Red Banks Rd, follow until the road ends (about 8 miles). At the end of the road turn left onto Marianna Rd.
Option 1 - go 2.7 miles on Marianna Rd and turn right onto Pegues Rd (a gravel/dirt road). Go 1/2 a mile down Pegues and you come to a fork where you can go straight/right or you can go left. It is best to go left, but be aware that you are in someone's driveway, 1/4th mile after the fork you come to a nice/newer house. This is private property and you will probably frighten the owners (my friends) if you show up unannounced. Their house/property is the nearest house to this cemetery and from here requires the least amount of walking. From that driveway, go south (on foot) and follow the fence line .1 mile then veer off to your right (into the woods). Look carefully and try to spot the wrought iron fence.
Option 2 - go 2.3 miles on Marianna Rd and turn right onto Quailwood Rd. (532 Quailwood Rd, Holly Springs, MS in your map). This is the entrance to the Covey Rise Plantation. Go about .6 miles down Quailwood. If you were to park at that point, the Pegues Cemetery is on the right side in the woods about 69 feet from the road/driveway. However, this abandoned cemetery is about 1/4 mile east (to the left), directly across from the Pegues Cemetery in deep woods.
There is no paved path and you have to walk through trees and brush. It does have a fairly new looking wrought iron gate around it that was put up by a family member. Even that is hard to spot, though, if you don't know where you're supposed to be looking. There is no sign that states the name of the cemetery. I'm calling it Jones Family Cemetery because of its inhabitants. I'm posting pictures of all the graves I photographed. There are also several graves marked with just a stone, no larger than a brick, with no other identifying information.
