Add Photosdirections to cemetery:
From the Warrenton courthouse on Hwy 185 E Bus, travel 3.6 miles and turnleft onto SR 1309 (Frazier Rd.). Travel 0.7 mile and cross Hwy 158 E Byp onto SR 1307(Oakville Rd.). Travel 2.5 miles and turn right onto a logging road. Travel 0.5 to 1 mile into the woods. The abandoned cemetery is located on the left near a large magnolia tree about 200 feet from the timber path.
cemetery notes:
During a 1998 Survey, six fieldstone markers, two sunken areas, and 20 unmarked graves were observed. The fence that once encircled each family area was not seen.
~~~~~
A note about the Reeks Family graves:
The Reeks family graves were not specifically listed in the cemetery surveys. There were however unmarked graves documented.
From the obituary of Rev. Thomas Branch Reeks we know that he died in the home of his brother-in-law John Brame and was buried by his wife in the old Brame homestead.
The death certificates for several of the Reeks children show that they were buried in the Brame, Reeks, or just family cemetery in Warren County. Rev Reeks was posted to Warren County by the Church and he had no other family in the county. Estate documents show that his wife inherited part of Brame property next to her brother John Brame's property. I have added these children to this cemetery because it is by far the most likely place for them.
