Also known as Bethel Presbyterian Church-Located at 7310 Tirzah Church Road Waxhaw NC 28173 The church first appeared in the statistics of the Presbyterian Church in 1874. Members were descendants of slaves or former slaves and previously attended Tirzah Presbyterian Church. In 1973 Bethel and Shiloh churches merged to become First Presbyterian Church Waxhaw. The present church building was built during World War II between 1943 and 1944 and is now occupied by Gospel Way Church. The cemetery is located behind the church and is still used by the African American community
