The following information is from Sherman & Karen Rath Orick (member #46869322):
Incorrect names of these two cemeteries located in Raisinville Township, Monroe County, Michigan - The graveyard behind the church should be called Saint Matthews/ Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. The church was originally St. Matthews Lutheran Church. In the 1960's, they merged with another small Lutheran church (St Marks in Ida, MI) and formed Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. They built a new sanctuary located on Lewis Ave in Ida. They still maintain the graveyard behind the old church as Prince of Peace Church Cemetery.
There is a fence between them. The cemetery with the chain link fence around it is called Rath Cemetery and always has been called by that name. There are several generations of my family buried in these two cemeteries, so I am on a mission to straighten out the names and try to transcribe them correctly.
I don't know who assigned the name First Baptist Churchyard or Round Cemetery, but those names are not right.
There is a congregation who worships at the small church where the cemeteries are located, and to the best of my knowledge it is called Grape Missionary Baptist Church, not First Baptist.
