Parr Family Cemetery
Henry County, Georgia, USA
According to Mr. Wayne McMickle [2003], who owns the property, this location was, at some time in the past, known as Price Quarters and was heavily involved in the production of turpentine; the business was owned by a Mr. J. R. Price, Sr., now buried in Price Family Cemetery in Henry County,
Georgia.
The cemetery consists of two marked, but broken, tombstones, one belonging to William J. Parr and the other to his son, John T., who died at an early age. Mr. McMickle says his information comes from two unmarried school teachers, named Gussie and Lila Goss, who were related to William J. Parr. The Goss sisters taught in Locust Grove schools for many years. They told Mr. McMickle that their deceased relative, alleged to be a grandparent or great grandparent, had died when he was about 30 years old and that his wife, Ann Parr, had remarried and was buried elsewhere. The cemetery also includes about 20 to 24 field stone marked graves which were reported to be slaves.
