The Reynolds Family Cemetery was located near the family home, or plantation, in the northern portion of Lauderdale Co., AL near the Tennesse state line. Wade Pruitt in "Bugger Saga" stated that the "Hugh Reynolds' home was on the Butler Creek road on a high hill overlooking Pruitton".
Within "A Walk Through the Past", William Lindsey McDonald relates: "On a high hill overlooking Pruitton lived Hugh Riah (Uriah) Reynolds, a veteran of the War of 1812. General Nathan Bedford Forest and Colonel Jacob Biffle spent the night in Reynolds' log house November 21, 1864, on their way to the Battle of Franklin."
Jill K. Garrett and Iris H. McClain, in their 1970 book "Some Lauderdale County, AL Cemetery Records", gave the location as: "from Florence, take the old Jackson Highway to the St. Florian community for about six miles; take the Butler Creek Road to Pruitton, turn left just before crossing Butler Creek, go for about two miles to a small creek (Sour Branch). The cemetery is about 300 feet past the branch and about 300 feet to the right of the road. Cemetery is heavily overgrown with vines, trees, small saplings, and other underbrush. Most of the tombstones were broken or down. Several graves had fieldstones, but impossible to estimate the number of fieldstone marked graves."
