William Henry Espe, son of Leopold and Magdalena Wieda Espe, was born on April 19, 1891 in Buena Vista County. He passed away at his home on March 5, 1978 at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Annie Hanson on August 11, 1917 in Milford. This union was blessed with a son, Dale, and a daughter, Loraine. William and Annie farmed in Buena Vista county until retiring in 1969 to Alta.

Mr. Espe was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and a brother.

Surviving him are his wife, Annie; daughter, Loraine Raveling of Spencer, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Erna Pederson and Mrs. Alice Jimmerson, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ada Espe, all of Alta, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on March 9 from the Jones funeral chapel with Rev. Clarence Beard officiating. Interment was in WOodlawn cemetery in Alta.
